Does it cost anything to attend Buffalo Commons?
No. Buffalo Commons is a tuition-free public charter school.
Can any student attend?
Yes! Any student residing in New York State may attend Buffalo Commons.
What grades will you have in your first year?
Kindergarten and 1st grade. We will grow by one grade per year until reaching K-8.
Is transportation provided?
Yes. Free bus transportation is available for all students.
Do you provide special education services?
Yes. Each grade at Buffalo Commons provides co-taught classrooms where students with IEPs can flourish while receiving necessary services and supports.
Do you provide services for students classified as ELL?
Yes. There is a dedicated ENL teacher at each developmental level. These faculty members provide comprehensive support including push-in and pull-out services.
What is the class size?
Each BCCS classroom has two teachers and access to numerous support instructors. Overall we have a 9:1 ratio of students to teachers.
What is the application process?
You’ve come to the right place! Fill out an application above by April 1, 2022 to be entered into the lottery. Lottery winners will be notified following the drawing.
Do you provide before or after school care?
Yes. Check back soon for details!
Do you have sports and arts?
Yes. Students have a robust PE and arts program throughout the school day and will have access to plentiful clubs and after school activities.
Where is the school located?
The school will launch at 833 Michigan Ave.
